2 Euro Gedenkmünze 2012
[Update] Die Münze erscheint am 02. Januar 2012 anlässlich des 10. Jahrestages der Einführung von Euromünzen und -banknoten. Alle Staaten der Eurozone geben eine motivgleiche Münze heraus. [Update Ende]
Das Motiv der 2 Euro Sondergedenkmünze 2012 mit dem Thema "10 Jahre Euro" steht fest. Zwischen 6. und 24. Juni 2011 gab es eine Abstimmung mit den letzten 5 Entwürfen. Im Vorfeld wurden von einer Jury aus ca. 800 Einreichungen 5 Entwürfe ausgewählt, die dann im Rahmen der Umfrage präsentiert wurden. An dieser Umfrage haben sich fast 35.000 Bürger beteiligt. Der Entwurf 1 erhält dabei 34 % der stimmen und landete auf Platz 1. Bei der Umfrage hier im Blog landete der Vorschlag ganz knapp auf Platz 2.
Der Entwurf hat meiner Meinung verdient gewonnen und ist eine sehr gute Vortsetzung der bisherigen Gemeinschaftsausgaben. Trotz der aktuellen Zerwürfnisse innerhalb der Euro-Zone dürfte die Münze große Begeisterung finden und die Gemeinschaft wieder etwas näher zusammenrücken.
Die Münze wird in einer Gesamtauflage von ca. 90 Mio. Exemplaren von den 17 Euro-Ländern ausgegeben und ist damit die dritte Gemeinschaftsausgabe. Die bisherigen Gemeinschaftsausgaben waren die 2 Euro Gedenkmünze "50. Jahrestags der Römischen Verträge" (2007) und die 2 Euro Gedenkmünze zum zehnjährigen Bestehens der Wirtschafts- und Währungsunion (2009).
Der Siegerentwurf stammt von Helmut Andexlinger, einem Münzdesigner der Münze Österreich. In einem Interview mit Helmut Andexlinger schreibt die Münze Österreich über den Entwurf:
Neben der vertrauten Seite mit der Europa-Karte zeigt Andexlingers Münzbild den Euro – genauer gesagt das Euro-Symbol – als Währung mit weltweiter Bedeutung. Rundherum sind jene Lebensbereiche angeordnet, für die der Euro eine bedeutende Rolle spielt. An erster Stelle stehen für Andexlinger ganz klar die Menschen. Sie stellt er in Form einer Familie und Wohnhäusern dar. Des weiteren symbolisieren Schiffe den Handel, das EZB-Gebäude die Finanzwelt und eine Fabrik die Industrie. Windräder zur Energiegewinnung betonen den Fortschritt, den der Euro mit ermöglicht. Dieses Münzbild wird um die Nennung des jeweiligen Ausgabelandes, um die Jahreszahl und um Andexlingers Monogramm ergänzt.
